TECHNICAL INFORMATION

ZINC PLATING

The Companies Zinc Plating Procedures comply with BSEN 2081 (formally BS1706) - Defence Standard DEF 03-20. ASTM B633, and a wide range of third party specifications are kept on file.

Analysis of plating solutions is carried out in our own well equiped laboratory and technical backup is readily available from our Chemical Suppliers.

This table should only be used as a guide and is based on an average plating thickness of 8um
Corrosion test based on ASTMBII7 (WC white corrosion RR red rust in hours)

For Trivalent (Cr6 Free) Passivate on Zinc we offer a Clear/Blue, Thick Film Iridescent & Yellow Iridescent. Turquoise Blue Dye can be achieved on Trivalent Clear Passivate for ID purposes.
PS100 Organic Seal process can be added to Thick Film Trivalent Passivate to give excellent corrosion resistant properties.
All of the above processes can be carried out on Barrel Plated parts and are processed manually off line to allow De-embrittlement after plating.
